Arrr Mateys! Sienna Plantation’s resort pool was the site of “Couture for the Cause” Escape to Treasure Island in late September benefiting the American Cancer Society. Lenny Matuszewski, famed runway stylist, directed the show with TOOTSIES fashions and gorgeous models “walking the plank.” Nearly 500 mateys attended the soiree, which included more than a dozen restaurants, a pirate “fight” and fireworks that ended the spectacular show. Fire the cannons for a great event!

8) Crista Clark, with daughters Kendall and Kaylin, was part of the Sweetwater Women’s Association 26th annual luncheon and style show at the club. Hundreds of fashionable ladies and their “up-and-coming” daughters enjoyed the themed event, “A New Decade in Fashion,” from scores of the hottest shops around town including Kiss Kiss, The Wardrobe, Ava Grace and many others. Ooh la la!!

Held in the Texas Building at Sugar Land Town Square, more than 100 people were in attendance at the kick off event for Sugar Land Town Square’s Fashion Week — Sugar Land Town Square’s Catwalk on City Walk Fashion Show — which raised $6,500 for the Fort Bend County Women’s Center. Fashions and “fluffing” were from Town Square retailers and An Albert Luiz Salon & Spa.

The first-ever Great Grown Up Spelling Bee benefiting the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County provided an entertaining event at The Honor Roll School in Sugar Land. Ten teams competed for the coveted Bee trophy — and two teams battled it out for several nail-biting rounds — before “The Secret Life of Bees” finally won. The winning word? “Euonym,” which means “a name well suited to the person, place or thing named.”

18) The winning team, “The Secret Life of Bees,” included Todd Crosswhite, Ron Lewis and Joan Vogan, with their winning trophies.

19) Taking second-place honors are “Buzzering Heights” team members Kavita Self, Yolanda Celestine and Tracy Guillory.

Committee members, florists, decorators, homeowners, presenting sponsors and special guests gathered at the home of Tom and Kelly Gaines to kick off the 2010 Christmas Home Tour, a popular annual event that benefits CASA.
