Dear Readers,

After more than four years of covering all things fabulous in Fort Bend County, it is bittersweet to say that this will be my last Scene in the Bend column. It has been a pleasure getting to know all of you and be a part of the community that I called home for more than 15 years. Thank you to so many people for making this a fun and easy “job” for so long, there are simply way too many to list. For more than a year now I have been living in Houston and it’s been difficult to keep up with Fort Bend life from here. I will absolutely still see many of you “in the Bend” and would love to catch up with you in the loop as well! Be well, be safe, and most importantly, be happy!

Sincerely, Cari

Thank you Cari…for four great years of being our social editor. We wish you the very best and will miss you!

Sounds of the Season FBCC Holiday Luncheon

The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce held its annual Sounds of the Season Holiday Luncheon on December 15 at Sweetwater County Club. Sponsored by HCC Goldman Sachs, and featuring guest speaker and author Bob Goshen, it was a wonderful way to celebrate the year’s successes with clients, friends and staff.  Entertainment was provided by the Kempner High School Choir and world renowned jazz musician, Vel Lewis.

CASA Christmas Home Tour

Child Advocates of Fort Bend Marketing Specialist Lisa Moore, who coordinates the annual CASA Christmas Home Tour event, ordered a dusting of snow for Fort Bend County on Friday morning to kick off the event and get everyone in the holiday spirit! Tour guests viewed homes in Long Meadow Farms, Sugar Creek, Sweetwater, Riverstone and the historic DeWalt Heritage Center, beautifully decorated for Christmas while raising funds to support Child Advocates of Fort Bend’s programs for abused and neglected children. More than 1,300 people visited the tour in its 26th year, which has become a fun Fort Bend County tradition for many. The event raised nearly $200,000 to help fund agency programs, services and education.
