Dear Readers,

I hope that you and your families are all back to some sense of normality after the hurricane. As we head into this holiday season, we are especially blessed to be a part of this great place we call home. I’m sure you’ll all agree that giving thanks this year will have a special meaning. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Cowboy Up Sponsor Party

The Parks Youth Ranch annual Cowboy Up sponsor party was held recently at Icon Bank in Sugar Land. More than 60 guests turned out to support the event even in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. “It felt great to know that so many people stepped away from important life matters in support of our mission!” said Executive Director Shannon Bloesch. The party was sponsored by Carrabbas. The event Co-Chairs for 2017 are Robin Alston, Jana Baumann, Yolanda Celestine and Sharon Dimicelli.

Fort Bend Education Foundation Benefit Golf Tournament

The 18th Annual Fort Bend Education Foundation’s Back to School Scramble Golf Tournament took place on Sept. 11 at Sweetwater Country Club. Schlumberger presented the event, which was co-chaired by Chris Barton and Claude Leatherwood. Thanks to the generosity of this year’s participants, the event netted over $122,000 for the Fort Bend Education Foundation and its Emergency Grants to outfit classrooms affected by Hurricane Harvey. The 256 golfers that played in the tournament enjoyed breakfast from Chick-fil-A and an awards banquet at the end of the day.
