Spelling Bee With A Purpose

The Literacy Council of Fort Bend County will hold its 8th Annual Great Grown-Up Spelling Bee, presented by CenterPoint Energy, on Thursday, September 7 at Constellation Field. This year’s Bee is co-chaired by Holly Kaminga and Emily Rhodes. The committee recently gathered with current sponsors and friends to kick-off the event with a Practice Bee and Party with a Purpose, generously underwritten by Tax Tech. The event was held at The Rouxpour in Sugar Land Town Square.

Fort Bend Seniors Meals
On Wheels Mad Hatter Sponsorship Kick Off

Fort Bend Seniors’ “Mad Hatter Goes Hollywood” committee recently held a Sponsorship Kick Off at the office of Dr. Rick Kline/Smile Texas. Guests enjoyed food from local restaurants including Veritas Steak and Seafood, Brandani’s, Tradicao, Raising Cane’s and Fish City Grill. There were whiskey and tequila tastings, door prizes and a raffle. The committee is looking forward to a fabulous event on Friday, October 27 at Safari Texas Ranch.

Indo-American Open
Comedy Forum

The Indo-American Stand Up Comedy Show was held recently at Zoroastrian Association of Houston’s center and hosted by radio personalities Subodh Bhuchar, Jagat Kamdar and Dinkar Chedda. The event, which is in its ninth year, has grown from a mere 75 attendees to more than 300. It is a free event but guests are encouraged to purchase raffle tickets, and monies raised help to fund the radio staion 106.1 FM. The three comedians this year were Raj Sharma, Melissa Shoshahi and Bob Khosravi.

Regina Morales recently celebrated her birthday with her closest friends at Veritas Steak and Seafood. She’s the former “First Lady of Rosenberg” as her husband Vincent is the former mayor of the city.
