Come out for the lighting of Sugar Land’s beautiful 40-foot Christmas tree, with a special appearance by Santa Claus. Partake in the Christmas cheer, visit the vendor booths offering scrumptious seasonal delicacies, and enjoy some of the community’s most popular performers. Children and families will have the opportunity to take free pictures with Santa, and participate in various holiday games and activities.

This 43rd annual event lets you enjoy a traditional British fete without making the trip across the Atlantic. Enjoy the Houston Highlander Pipe Band and other entertainment, and also the smell of home-baked scones and biscuits and other food items. Other gifts include gourmet dog biscuits and handmade dog beds, as well as linens and cards, T-shirts and sweets. New this year is the Apple Core-ner where apple-related gifts can be purchased. Proceeds go to various charities.

Get in the holiday spirit with the 33nd annual Snowfest! The beloved tradition includes the tree lighting ceremony and fireworks. Guests are invited to enjoy the array of event activities including the 3-lane snowhill, camel rides, moonwalks, a video gaming station and photos with Santa and his favorite reindeer.

Come back on Saturday, Dec. 3 for the Fun Run at 8:15 a.m. at the Recreation & Tennis Center. The parade begins at 9 a.m. on Cartwright Road.

The Katy Old-Fashioned Christmas is a family classic, and a free event,  that Katy Market Days runs in a partnership with the City of Katy. It includes the official lighting of the Mayor’s Christ­mas Tree and photos with Santa Claus, booths with holiday activities for children including letters to Santa, making your own Christmas Ornaments and Reindeer food! Photos with Santa are available for $5. Market Days will have 180 guaranteed unique and craftspeople only vendors (no businesses just soliciting information), and a free snowfield with 50,000 pounds of snow for the kids to enjoy. The event also includes entertainment from local church and school choirs and groups of carolers throughout the day. We are also collecting canned food donations for a local food pantry.

Proceeds from each admission and special event ticket that you purchase, plus 10 percent of all the merchandise you buy, goes back to Houston Ballet Foundation, its academy and scholarship programs.
