Martini Night For Child Advocates Of Fort Bend

Friends of Child Advocates of Fort Bend (CAFB) hosted a Martini Night at Commissioner Grady Preston’s home in Sienna Plantation. The event included a spring fashion show with looks by Fabulous You in Sugar Land.

Literacy Council’s Reading Between The Wines

The Literacy Council of Fort Bend County celebrated its Fourth Annual Reading between the Wines on April 1 at Safari Texas Ranch in Stafford. The event was presented by the Fred and Mabel R. Parks Foundation, co-chaired by Helen Bow and Gena Horak. The Honorary Chairs were U.S. Congressman Pete and Nancy Olson. Memoirist and poet Mary Karr, Ph.D. was the featured speaker and entertained guests with her intriguing story. Guest authors were Linda Berthelsen, Lisa Geisler, Matt Minor, Melissa Bourroughs-Johnson and Cybele Hunter.

FBCA’s Cruisin’ Thru The ‘60s Costume Party

Fort Bend Christian Academy’s “Cruisin’ Thru the ‘60s Be Swanky, Be There!” dinner, dance, and costume party spanned the decade of the ‘60s. The event was held on Feb. 19 at Briscoe Manor in Richmond. FBCA families, friends, and supporters enjoyed a fun and beautiful evening with Master of Ceremonies Michael Garfield, the High Tech Texan, and auctioneer Randolph Halford, who is also auctioneer for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Three hundred guests enjoyed dancing to the great music tunes of the decade from the band Password, and a fabulous dinner. More than $180,000 was raised through the school’s online, silent and live auctions. Gala chairs were Alicia Scala, Sasha Lotze, Tina Spinks, and Tina Robison.
