Dear Readers,

I hope this is a fun, safe, and exciting month for you and your family as you experience Spring Break, the Easter season, and much more.

I know many of you will be visiting special places near and far as you see friends and family. I would love for you to send me photos of your adventurous getaways and special parties so we can all enjoy these times with you. Please send your photos to [email protected]. Identify the location and the names of the people in the photo. Please be sure to send photos original size (do not reduce for email).

I have enjoyed seeing you in the community at the various parties and gatherings. I love highlighting our great people, organizations and charitable causes. I especially value your comments on how much you enjoy reading the Fort Bend Lifestyles and Homes magazine. It is fun seeing what is happening in our community, in our beautiful homes, great businesses, and of course finding out what is happening socially. I enjoy reading the magazine as much as you do!

Fort Bend Christian Academy’s “Eagle ParTee” Gala

Fort Bend Christian Academy hosted its annual gala and auction on Feb. 10. The theme of this year’s gala was a country club “Eagle ParTee” and guests were encouraged to wear traditional or festive golf attire. The event was held at Sweetwater Country Club and attended by more than 200 people. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, miniature golf, dinner and dancing. With the generous donations of many guests and families, the event netted $142,000 to benefit the school and students.

Director of Advancement Nicole Bowles said the event was successful financially, but it also helped build community. “Many guests said this was by far their favorite gala they have attended,” Bowles said. “The goal of the evening was clear. We were all there to benefit the students, and it’s exciting to see our families give so generously and support the mission of Fort Bend Christian Academy.”

The gala chairs included Jenn LaRocca, Vicki Vaughn and Jessica Williams. Committee members included Stephanie Dobbs, Katie Harris, Tiffany Harris, Leah Henley, Monica Holden, Kelly Ivey, Vickie Kelley, Catherine Kubala, Haley Millis, Tiffany Newton, Tracy Pipes, Tiffany Tyler and Janet Varkey.

“We could not have had a successful gala without the help of our incredible parent volunteers and FBCA staff,” said Vicki Vaughn. “These gifted and talented individuals give countless hours planning and preparing for this event which benefits our school. It is an amazing journey to watch the transformation from an idea/theme to the fabulous event we experienced Saturday night.”
